Ecoline Building completed this stunning ground floor and first floor house extension on a 1800’s Cottage located in Compton, Wolverhampton. The project consisted of removing existing walls in the house, to create new large open space for the family allowing the existing kitchen to be relocated into a larger kitchen and living area. A large corner Bi Fold Door set was installed to open up the rear of the house for views onto the terraced area and garden.

The first floor extension formed an additional bedroom for the family, and there was a large refurbishment of the existing dwelling creating two new bathrooms to the first floor plan.

The upper and lower level roofs where finished in a dark blue Slate, with leadwork to suit. The exterior was rendered and painted to match the existing cottage boosting it’s traditional look.

As you can see from out client’s review they were very pleased.

“From the moment we asked for a quotation from Ecoline in August 2020 we felt we we’re going to be in safe hands. And we weren’t wrong.

With any renovation of this nature, particularly with an older home such as ours, we knew going in there would be challenges. And challenges there were – planning questions and consents, adverse weather, design flaws (does that steel beam really need to be there now?), and the occasional Covid-related delay. But these challenges did not become problems because Ecoline was always quick to respond, provide support or solutions and they worked tirelessly through everything to deliver the amazing home we have today.

One of the things that really impressed us was the quality of the tradespeople who worked on our home. Every one of them was professional, extremely helpful and completed their work to very high standard. And when we had a couple of issues post construction, they were immediately on site to rectify the issues.

We would like to pass on our sincere appreciation and thanks for the hard work and dedication shown by your team. Regular (socially distanced) contact and communication with Contracts Manager was critical to the success of the renovations and Chris ensured we were kept well informed of progress. Despite being 150 miles away, we always felt we knew what was happening on site. Fast forward to March 2021 and we are so happy with the finished extension and associated building works undertaken; you have delivered us a wonderful new home, pink kitchen and all. 😊”

Ecoline Building Ltd completed a contemporary extension on a three-storey stone built farmhouse located near Much Wenlock, working alongside local architects to re model the ground floor, creating a kitchen , diner area, Garden Room, Utility and Shower room with a Aluminium Glazing system that opens up the rear of the house to overlook the garden and views of the surrounding Brown Clee Hill and Countryside.

The aim was to create a bespoke extension-built to balance the heritage and architectural integrity of the existing building. The new extension has allowed the existing cramped kitchen and diary to be opened up to increase natural light and allow the building historic material to be shown off. The materials and approach were to distinguish between the old and new

The extension compromises of a bespoke oak framed structure built in to the Stonework of the existing building, with a specified Maxlight Aluminium glazing system, Cedar Shingles, and Zinc Clad. A knock through took place with Large Beams installed holding approx. 600mm wide Stonework wall. Structural Steel Supports were installed to hold the existing Truss Ceiling Chord up, along with chimneys being opened up to use these areas for further space required for installation of new kitchen

The Roof gas a Parapet cladding in Black Zinc, finished with a Bauder Roof System with Solar Panels installed

Extensive detail to all Internal/ External Joinery and finishing works internally with a pocket door system installed

For the Landscaping, Ecoline Building Ltd installed a Pergola structure off the extension on Oak to match internal finishes, Ecoline built a new raised Patio area, with large steps and planters, These were finished with drainage channels to manage the rain water and Limestone Tiles

The end of 2018 saw us complete a bespoke modern extension, the works involved the demolition of an existing concrete beam and block external terrace area on a 5-bedroom detached house. Some masonry work was also removed which reduced back to create an aperture to receive a split level, upper and lower ground floor extension.

A new terrace area was constructed along with a storage area below, new walls and steps were installed using stone walling, with Indian stone paving and finished with a glass balustrade to create a modern and fresh look. All carpentry works were completed in European Oak timber.

During the project several specialised tasks were carried out as requested from the client including a live sedum roof was installed incorporating 3no Velux integra flat rooflights to allow in the natural light into the newly designed space. The structure was wrapped in a VM Zinc Pigmento Green, finished with Velfac windows and doors and structural glazing.  A tanking system was also incorporated into the structure to minimise any moisture entering the building through the walls and floor. New installation of an underfloor heating system to split level extension with extensive electrical installation.

The specially designed steelwork was installed to create the unusual shapes for architectural perspective of natural light and connections with landscaping.
